Janet's Story
Life
Hi All, it is so exciting being back and living in New York after 30 years. After leaving Scarsdale, I spent a brief time down south in South Carolina at Warren Wilson College; didn't like it so I followed my family to Ethiopia and attended the then Haile Selassie I University for one semester. I then went to Malawi in 1974. I graduated from the University of Malawi (Chancellor College)in 1979(having lost several years through all the globe trotting!) with a BA  Honors degree in History. I worked for many years as a journalist.
During my career as a journalist, I established a woman's magazine, which I edited (W...Expand for more
oman Now) and a newspaper (also edited by me) called The Independent -- 1989-2000.
I was posted to my countryÂs foreign service in July 2007. Thoroughly enjoying it! I have three sons (32, 24 and 21) and three grand children (13, 6 and 2).
I was married to my college sweetheart; who succumbed to a heart attack four years ago.
I love to read and sink my teeth into a good John Grisham thriller; but enjoy just as thoroughly a smoochy romance novel  either a Mills and Boon or history romance. I can also get wiled up by a good comedy, thriller (non-horrific) or love movie.
I love to cook, but not when I am eating alone.
